Facilities
Our laboratory is located at the newly renovated pre-clinical research facility overlooking Lake Superior at 290 Munro Street. We are currently well equipped for routine synthetic and biological chemistry as well as molecular cloning and cell based studies. We have recently purchased a Buchi automated flash chromatography system, Agilent HPLC, Biotek Synergy 4 plate reader and Microbeta Scintillation Counter to complement our existing facilities. Coming soon: MicroPET scanner, animal facility, cylotron and surface plasmon resonance!As we are affiliated with Lakehead Chemistry, we have access to the faciliies and instruments at LUCAS (Lakehead Univeristy) including:
- nuclear magnetic resonance: Varian Unity Inova 500 MHz NMR
- chromatographic instruments: HPLC, GC-MS, etc.
- FT-IR, UV-vis, fluorescence/phosphorescence spectrometers
- mass spec with ICP, CHN analysis, X-ray diffraction
- scanning electron microscopy including X-ray microanalyser
- SHARCNET computational facilities
